On wildflowers and blueberries

While I have many vacation memories in my head, I’m happy to have brought a real souvenir at home.
I am back in town! The eventful days of May had just flown by, but the memories will last for a while. The last month was quite special. Not only, it marked the halftime of my time in Canada, but also it felt like a total contrast to the previous three month in winter.
Recently, we had a visitor (Monique) at our home. Not only she sailed across the Atlantic and has a lot of stories to tell, she also wanted me to assist her on her business trips around the area. This is where I found real treasures.
At this point, I would like to give many thanks again to Sabrina, who made me a special gift. I love wearing the cute socks with candy colors which she knitted for me 🙂
Since two month, my worklife is no longer the way I was used to. This is mainly due to the fact, that I still have to wait for my working visa. However, I do have a different sort of work routine each day.
I always enjoy to receive news and messages, regardless in which way. Nowadays, of course, via email, short text messages, phone or via post mail. However, the latter (means: letter) is rather unlikely.
I have to admit: I miss to eat bavarian food. Not necessarily in the beginning, but after five weeks of other meals, there is especially one thing I really miss: Brezn. Yesterday we had our 11 years anniversary and I knew, I wanted to prepare something special for that day. I googled a lot of recipes and hoped, that I will find one, that comes close to the Brezn, I know from home. For my first try, I think it turned out very well and on top, it has a taste, that reminds me home. Et voilà – Ready for serving!
A new month has begun and a new project, too. While I must wait for my working-visa, I use the time to knit and purl a lot of stitches. I intended to knit a colourful blanket and I hope that I will succeed, because I am not quite used to knit. To start off, I therefore bought some merino yarn in colours Amethyst, Aubergine, Fern Green, Periwinkle, Silver Cloud, and Navy blue that I found at the Knitca-Store. Tomorrow, we will spend almost 7 hours in the car, to drive to Montréal. This time, I’m happy to have a long drive, cause I can knit a lot on my blanket.
Last time at the supermarket, I recognized ingredients and products, that are not easy to find at home. So i tried to create a dessert with fresh fruit, almond milk and chia seeds, which brought a little summer feeling in the house. Of course – I almost put it on everything I cook – I added maple sirup and the pudding tastes a little bit sweeter. Now, I can’t wait to try it :)…
